Adoption Success Stories!
We are proud to be doing our part in helping to rescue, rehabilitate, and socialize abused, abandoned, and unwanted dogs.
We work with several rescues and occasionally take in dogs that are hard to place in foster homes. Sometimes we are the last stop before euthanasia.

The best part of working with these dogs, is seeing them eventually find good homes with families that will love and care for them for the rest of their lives. Sometimes these dogs wind up going home with our customers!

Here are some of their stories!

Lady & Pups: Lady came to us malnourished and with a litter of puppies. She was our first foster, and we quickly grew attatched to her. It didn't take long to realize that with her energy and a few behaviour issues (jumping and nipping) that it would be hard to adopt her out successfully. She did however, find a home here with us and no longer has these issues. She now calls A Precious Pet Resort her permanent home. She takes part in our efforts to socialize and rehabilitate dogs with behavior issues. You can meet her anytime you come to visit!

Lady's son Beauford has also found a permanent home here!

Abbey and Westley: Two of Lady's pups that were adopted by a local couple who bring them regularly for boarding. All seem to enjoy the family reunion, including us!

We love seeing dogs return that we have had a hand in caring for and rehoming!

Bishop was our first bulldog working with the Long Island Bull Dog rescue. He had a bit of toy aggression we had to work out, but other than that, he was a great affectionate guy. He is living happily now with a family that loves him!

Bruschi was another bulldog from the Long Island Bull Dog rescue that was to date one of our saddest cases. He had lived most of his life in a too-small vari-kennel crate which had deformed his body and given him an obsessive barking issue. His previous owners had taken to over-dosing him with medications to get him to stop. It took us some time to get him to warm up to us and trust us. Because of this we worried that he may not get adopted, when suddenly we got a call that someone was willing to take him home! Bru now lives with a great owner, several other dogs, and we get frequent updates as to how well he is doing!

Bob's owner was caught during a drug raid abusing him, and he was sent here on an emergency basis. Despite his past, Bob turned out to be a great dog, and was adopted out pretty quickly!

Winston was a case of serious misunderstanding. Winston lived with a great family who loved him, and one day while playing with a little girl, he jumped up and hit her in the face by mistake. The animal warden wanted him killed. Thankfully Bulldog Rescue intervened and Winston, who had NO aggression toward anyone while he was with us, was adopted by an active couple who also had a mastiff 'sister' for him!

Red a pitbull cattle dog mix, was slated for death in a southern shelter. He was housed with many other dogs all on death row, and was forced to literally fight to eat the food they tossed on the floor. He came to NH on a transport truck still followed by the threat of euthanasia. If he wasn't taken by a NH shelter he would be shipped back and euthanized. Covered in scars but incredibly social and friendly, smart, loving and energetic, we were suprised how long it took for him to finally find a home! The good news is now he is with a loving family!

Sandy was a beagle mix that proved to be too much for her low-energy foster home (probably why she was surrendered into the shelter in the first place). She was brought to us as a 'last resort' where she soon integrated into our pack and not only got to drain her energy daily, but she picked up some manners and social skills as well! She was adopted to companion other high energy dog and last we heard she was still doing great!

Timber was the most happy-go-lucky chow mix you could ever meet! Returned once because the adopter's cat didn't like him, he eventually found a wonderful home to call his own!

Tank was brought to us over weight with a ton of aggressive behavioral issues. We attempted to work with the owner, but to no avail.

He stayed with us for a good year receiving attention, care, exercise, and we all knew that A Precious Pet Resort was going to be the best place for him, since he needed truly experienced handling.

Eventually Tank's age and the heath issues (some stemming from long term neglect and a past blow to his eye area) began to lessen his quality of life and we had to put him down.

While it saddened us greatly, we are comforted in knowing that at least the last year of his life was spent with those who loved him, cared for him, and took wonderful care of him.

Brady is a Jack Russell/Boston Terrier mix who was surrendered after spending his first year of life locked in a crate for 20 hours a day. With no social skills and few manners, we worked really hard to bring him around... and it worked! Sooner than we could have ever expected Brady was running around socializing and playing with other dogs and learning what it was to trust people again!

Surprisingly the owner of his litter mate found Brady while looking for another dog and he now resides with them!
